palgēy māyim: not just a tree in a field [january 2011] film: fuji instax 800iso
from whence is your fountainhead, tree ?
Psalm 1:1-3Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].
CHECK THIS-
Back in the ancient days of Solomon & Nebuchadnezzar, gardens were slices of paradise that adorned grand kingdoms throughout the east. Because they were situated in geographically arid areas that didn't receive large quantities of rainfall, they were irrigated by small channels of water that acted as canals. These canals were fed by irrigation ditches, riverbanks, reservoirs, water tanks, or vessels labored by hands. Basically, gardens depended on their access to water to live and flourish through a network of little earth channels which criss-crossed the garden beds like a chessboard. In Egypt, the Nile supplied an interminable source of life for gardens and orchards, and that resulted in an Egypt beautified by lush landscapes. Some gardens were so arranged that every plot of planted earth was surrounded by flowing water and/or had unrestricted access to irrigation. They always had their need supplied and there was always an endless source.
God is our inexhaustible source. Psalm 1 instructs us that when we eat the Word for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we are like a garden nourished and stewarded by God- Yup, the one who created the universe Himself. When we delight and desire that Word of life, God engulfs us with everything we will ever need to grow abundantly. Like the flowing water that fully conveys a plot of planted earth, hugging its every corner- God protects us from absence or deficiency, embracing us with over-abundance, love, and grace. We are in the hands of the best gardener ever-God.

Jeremiah 17:7-10
But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
